Already for over 10 years the Roots Festival has been establishing a reputation of being one of the leading international music festivals. Presented are extraordinary developments in the musical world based on an ethnical background. This year’s Roots Festival follows the motto “World in Europe” and gives the opportunity to discover different kinds of music styles as well as contacts between different cultural groups.

The Dutch are fond of jazz, and this is one of the high points of their annual calendar. Both international and Dutch jazz artists will be performing in and around the Reguliersgracht. Also this year there are plenty of open air concerts, many after parties in numerous cafes and many more events that are taking place until the early morning hours.
