Festival Musidanças

During November Lisbon holds a great musical festival that includes dance, music, food as well as traditional crafts and paintings from Portuguese speaking countries. Already for many years, Musidanças is an important part of Lisbon’s cultural life.

The Lisbon Village Festival is a cultural event that is dedicated to the digital generation including music and art performances and movie screenings. The focus lies on showing the constantly increasing influence of the new technologies in the creative and artistic work.
   
 

Sintra Music Festival (dates not yet confirmed)
30 May-30 July 2009
This musical festival does not take place in Lisbon directly but in the idyllic town of Sintra which belongs to the Unesco’s World Heritage. It includes some of the best know artists of the international classical dance and music scene. The Sintra Music
   
 

Festa de Lisboa (dates not yet confirmed)
1 June-1 July 2009 (Annual)
Festa de Lisboa is a fantastic mixture of the melancholic Fado and a colourful festival about Portugal’s gypsies. From the 24 of June to the 3 of July the gypsies of the country are the centre of attention. This festival is called "Rotas & Rituais" and includes exhibitions of paintings and photography, movies by Tony Gatlif and concerts at the Cinema São Jorge.
   
 

Festas dos Santos Populares (dates not yet confirmed)
12-29 June 2009
Follow massive parades, party with the locals and discover the (religious) wild side of Lisbon. The Portuguese love their patron saints and while almost any occasion seems appropriate to show their devotion, it’s with the Festas dos Santos Populares (Feast Days of the Popular Saints) that the peak of this affection is reached.

Lisbon Pride has established itself to a corporative party event that causes a stir with provocative parades through the city. Flashy dressing and an abundance of colours turn Lisbon into a catwalk for the gay community.

Five weeks in summer will be filled with great music on all kind of stages in and around Lisbon. Since 1975 this summer event has been taking place every year and has attracted locals as well as Lisbon’s visitors.

Super Bock Super Rock is a rock festival that got its name from a Portuguese beer and has been taking place every year since its foundation in 1994. It takes place in the Parque do Tejo, located in Lisbon''s Parque das Nações.
