São Carlos National Theatre Opera Season

Every year, from November to June, there is Opera season in Lisbon. São Carlos is the main opera house in Lisbon. It was opened on July 30, 1793 by Queen Maria I of Portugal. The interior, inspired by La Scala, has a rococo style and 1148 seats.

Festival de Almada (dates not yet confirmed)
1-30 July 2009 (Annual)
The Festival de Almada is an international theatre festival which presents many plays and theatre styles at different venues of the city, amongst them Centro Cultural de Belém and the Almada Theatre. The programme includes work of young and new talents, classical plays but also special performances like puppet plays or ballet.
