Onion Market Weimar

Coming to Weimar in October means getting to know a piece of city history – the Weimarer Onion Market, one of the biggest folk festivals in Thuringia. Initially it was a market to sell cattle and onions. By then Weimar didn’t have more than 5000 inhabitants. The merchants mainly came from Heldrungen, 46 km from Weimar.
