This sumptuous theatre is generally said to be the best in Athens. Elaborately decorated with an old-fashioned red velvet and gold trim, crystal chandeliers, and other embellishments, it has an elegant and luxurious atmosphere. It also has all the modern conveniences one expects from a cinema such as large and comfortable seats, a very wide screen, and air conditioning. The films shown here are primarily new international releases and older classics.

This cinema offers a unique and exclusive film experience, showing movies in a quaint bougainvillea-draped garden. Located in the popular and chic neighbourhood of Kolonaki, this cinema draws a rather sophisticated clientele, often coming from one of the many good restaurants in the area, or headed toward another of its lively nightspots. They show a variety of films here, including major international ones and a number of good Greek movies.
Danaos 1 Ericsson
A spacious theatre with a great sound system, this place offers a comfortable and state-of-the-art cinema experience. It’s a bit outside of the city centre, but may be worth the extra trip depending on what they are showing. They always offer a good selection of current releases, and occasionally some lesser-known films.

Elly
This is a unique and off-beat cinema dedicated to independent and art films that you will not find in the more mainstream theatres of Athens. It is not very large, but has character and a welcoming atmosphere.
