Museu Picasso
This is definitely one of the most important museums of Barcelona. The most impressive collection of over 3,500 painting and drawings is particularly strong in Picasso’s early period. The museum presents some of Picasso’s schoolbook sketches from art school (where his father taught) and strong works from his early days in Barcelona, including the Blue Period (1901 – 1904) and the Pink Period (1907 – 1920).
The museum also displays a set of 42 pieces of ceramic such as vases, plates and dishes, all made in the 1050s and displaced by Jaqueline Picasso.

Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA)
The building itself, designed by American architect Richard Meier’s is an attraction on its own. It has a longitudinal floor plan with a base of 120 x 35 meters in which a circular piece is vertically inserted and passes through all four floors of the museum. The vivid contrast between the white façade of this modern building and the surrounding historical buildings makes a stimulating situation.
The museum displays mostly temporary exhibitions mainly in the fields of photography, video and graphic work.
The collection begins with pieces of work from the 1940s, although earlier works by Paul Klee, Alexander Calder and Leandre Cristofol are also on display.

Sep 25th – Jun 23rd: Mon and Wed - Fri: 11 am – 7.30 pm, Sat: 10 am – 8 pm, Sun: 10 am – 3 pm.
Jun 24th – Sep 24th: Mon, Wed and Fri: 11 am – 8 pm, Thu: 11 am – midnight, Sat: 10 am – 8 pm, Sun: 10 am – 3 pm.

Museo del Fútbol Club Barcelona
A fascinating tour, not just for the Catalonian club fans, but also for football lovers. A tour to the museum includes a tour to the stadium itself and features four main areas; The History Museum, The Art Gallery, The Collection of Football Art and the Temporary exhibition.
The museum offers an opportunity to get to know the stadium by taking a tour into the changing rooms, down the tunnel and onto the pitch area. This is a true experience for football lovers.

Casa - Museu Gaudí
Antoni Gaudi lived in this house, which is located in the park he created from 1905 to 1925. This 19th century building displays furniture designed by Gaudi himself as well as drawings and other few projects. The house is surrounded by a truly nice garden with a few statues made by Gaudi himself.
If you get to visit Park Guell, make sure to see this lovely museum.

Museo del Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Familia museum displays a huge number of objects that help us understand the complexity of this impressive architectural work by Gaudi. You can find here original building plans, drawings and models that enables to understand the creative process of building and creating this amazing church, that is one of Barcelona’s most important assets. The museum is located inside the La Sagrada Familia itself.

Museu Marítim
The Maritim museum is located in the medieval shipyards with impressive Gothic arches from the 13th century. The highlight of this wonderful museum is the full-scale reproduction of the Royal Galley, the main ship of Don Juan de Austria. There are also many reproductions of boats and maritime objects from all periods such as pleasure boats and fishing craft.
There are workshops for children aged 3 to 12 and an interactive area called the “Big Sea Adventure”.

Fundació Joan Miró
This beautiful building with the white walls and an elegant system of roof arches was designed by Miro’s friend Sert. You will find here a collection of more than 225 paintings, 150 sculptures, tapestries, over five thousand drawings and the artist’s complete graphic work.
The permanent collection highlights Miro’s trademark of using primary colours and simple basic forms that symbolise stars, the moon, birds and women.
The foundation presents exhibitions of contemporary art on a regular basis and also offers contemporary music concerts.
