Berlin is a real paradise for shopping-fans. Thanks to Berlin’s location the city is a juncture of the east and west when it comes to the theme of fashion.The designer fashion and outstanding trends rised in the last years. But also the small boutiques with handmade clothes and department stores with international vibes and local designers gain more knowledge and acceptance in the city.
In nearly every district you can find pleasant shopping malls and of course trendy and fashionable shops as well as designer clothes. For designer fashion have a look at Friedrichstraße and KaDeWe (Department Store in the West). There you can also find well-stocked delicatessen from abroad.
Berlin has 7 huge shopping malls and plenty of small ones. They are evenly spreaded all over Berlin. The famous ‘Potsdamer Platz Arcades’ and the ‘Europa Center’ are the main tourist attraction when it comes to shopping. However, if you have the urge to feel Berlin’s atmosphere and want to get in contact with the inhabitants, go to the shopping malls like ‘Gesundbrunnen Center’ or ‘Ring Center’ which reflect the character of the particular district.
Most of the shopping areas and malls are open from 9 or 10 am and close at 8 pm. Sometimes there are some special opening times like midnight openings on Saturdays and Sundays openings.
