Built to resemble an old train station, this restaurant is one that you won’t forget easily, It has wooden seats and metal pillars as well a magnificent trompe l’oeil mural on the wall. The overall effect makes you feel as if you’re on a set out of one of Fellini’s films, and the food is good as well. The osso bucco is delicious, and there are always some fine pasta and meat dishes. The pasta is made fresh, and each day seven pasta dishes are featured. Each section of the menu changes somewhat every day. The prices here average between € 20 - 30.

Da Piero
Consistenly gourmet dishes and a fine wine list make this restaurant a real gem. The chef, Piero Carlucci, settled in Brussels only recently and has needed little time to show the city what he’s got. All the dishes are traditional Italian ones, but have something to make them extra tasty. Reservations are necessary is you want to avoid a long wait. Prices average around € 25.

L’Atelier de la Truffe Noire
Run by renowned Italian chef Luigi Cicieriello, this restaurant is marvellous and not too expensive compared to ones of its ilk. The choices of pasta, meat and seafood dishes are numerous, and many feature truffles. Contrary to the establishment’s name, however, white truffles are usually the mushroom of choice. Pasta with cream and white truffles is one of the most popular dishes. The décor here is fresh and modern, and the restaurant is divided into two rooms, the Tuscan and Venetian salons. A unique feature is the shop attached to the restaurant, where visitors can buy ingredients and recipe books to recreate some of the specialties at home. The average cost to dine here is between € 50 - 70.

Mirante
A traditional and very affordable Italian restaurant located right in the centre of Brussels, Mirante is particularly known for its pizzas. Due to the careful and authentic preparation and baking techniques, the pizzas here are a cut above most of the others in the city, and a wide selection is offered. The atmosphere here is friendly and the service attentive. Prices are under € 20 and credit cards are accepted.

La Pomme de Pin
A popular place with the locals, this cosy Italian restaurant is highly recommended. The selection of pasta dishes is extensive, with many variations on spicy, garlicy and creamy sauces, as well as several baked pasta dishes. Pizzas are also a specialty, and the most ordered has always been “Pizza Blanche,” a particular favourite with the regulars. Reservations are recommended as this place fills up quickly. Prices average around € 30.
