This is one of the only extensive department stores in Brussels, located in the Lower Town. They of course sell clothing and household items, as well as travel gear, shoes, teas and more. They have a wide range of apparel and include many designer names as well as more common brands. There is a dazzling array of accessories, and a great kitchenware section.

Hema
Down-to-earth and cheerful, Hema is a miniature department store. Their main emphasis is on household items such as bedding, linens and kitchenware. They also sell clothes, accessories, stationary, tools, cleaning supplies, food, baked goods and basically anything else you can think of. The clothing section is very basic and fairly limited, but they have a great kids section. The accessories are somewhat more varied and exciting. Everything here is very cheap.
