National Dance Theatre
This dance theatre is the home of the prestigious Magyar Fesztival Balett, Europe’s biggest private dance company. They perform a variety of works, with emphasis on famous Hungarian composers such as Franz Liszt, Béla Bartók, and Zoltán Kodály. Other dance troupes perform here as well, and a wide variety of shows are done in any given year, ranging from the traditional to the avant-garde.
Budai Vigadó
This venue features the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble on a regular basis, with between 90 - 100 shows by them here each year. The Folk Ensemble was founded in 1951, and is known as one of the best folk groups in the world. They base all their choreographies on authentic Hungarian dances, some of which have been danced for hundreds of years. The Folk Emsemble troupe is made up of thirty regular members, with occasional guest appearances.
