Budapest is a busy city long after dark, and there is a wide variety of bars, clubs, and live music to choose from when exploring the city at night. Most clubs are for dancing, and you are sure to find a place with music and an atmosphere that you like. Opening times of course vary from one establishment to the next, but most clubs open around 10 or 11 pm, with dancing from 11 pm until closing. There are many places to hear music in the evening and far into the night, from classic operas to folk, jazz, rock, and much more. A great source to use for the most up-to-date nightlife information is the magazine Pesti Est, a free weekly that includes all manner of events, including movies, theatre, ballet, special club nights, concerts and more. Good English publications include Budapest Sun and Budapest Times, but they are somewhat less complete.
