The nights in Cairo are even livelier than the days. Especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays people go out, meaning they sit in a bar with or without live music or go to clubs with western influence (disco) as well as in typical Egyptian clubs. Going to such a club means chilling and eating something while watching a show with belly-dancers. At most discos they play international music combined with country rhythms. For safety reasons bars and discos are often located directly in the hotels.
Most of the people in Cairo have soft drinks. Although people are Muslims, alcohol is not difficult to get in the city. Because of the amazing surrounding of the city, a lot of well designed and typically styled Egyptian nightlife areas have been established.
