Le Bistro
This small and out-of-the-way restaurant serves great French food at good prices. Most dishes are simple but delicious, and the seafood salad with garlic dressing is a favourite. The veal dishes and spicy sausage with rosti are also especially recommended. The restaurant is frequented by both locals and ex-pats, and many members of the French community dine here regularly.

Le Chateau
This is an elegant restaurant on the Nile with a fantastic view. It specializes in red meat and seafood in a variety of flavourful sauces. Some of the most popular dishes are the fresh smoked salmon with lemon-dill mayoniase, capers and radishes and the grilled lamb chops with garlic and rosemary. The atmosphere is both stylish and relaxed with high wood-panelled ceilings and walls and comfortable leather armchairs. The staff is friendly and very efficient. Reservations are recommended.
