Le Sommelier
This popular and highly esteemed restaurant offers the best French cuisine in the city. It has an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere, with pale yellow walls, an earthy wooden floor, and brass chandeliers. Some of the specialties include guinea fowl in a foie-gras sauce, lamb shank, and crispy sweetbreads with parsley and garlic. The wines are a big deal here, and the cellar contains more than 800 varieties. If you have to wait for a table, you can head to the handsome darkwood bar and sample some wines. Prices for a meal range from 151 - 200 kr. All major credit cards are accepted.

La Galette
This playful restaurant specializes in crepes, and is located right in the city centre. It forms part of a lovely little courtyard, where guests can eat outside when the weather is warm, either in the sun or the shade. There are many different kinds of crepes here, both savoury and sweet. Two of their popular savoury crepes are the Asterix, with ratatouille, egg, and chives, and the Quimper, with spinach, egg, bacon, and cheese. The sweet crepes are many, such as strawberry, chocolate banana and flambéed caramel apples, and are served with powdered sugar, syrups, or jams. Prices are very low, generally under 90kr.

Le Saint Jacques
This is a small, cozy restaurant run by some of the best chefs in town. When the weather is warm, the restaurant is expanded by many tables outside on the bustling Østerbrogade. The menu changes somewhat depending on what is available from the market and the fish that have been caught, but there are many tantalizing regular dishes. Specialties include Canadian scallops with leeks and salmon in a beurre blanc sauce, sole with basil sauce and balsamic glaze, savoury small chicken or poussin, and sweetbreads in phyllo pastry on a bed of polenta and lentils. Reservations are necessary. Prices range from 121 - 200 kr for a meal. Credit cards are accepted.
