Caffè la Torre
This is a bar/restaurant with an exciting, lively atmosphere near to the Piazzale Michelangelo and the river Arno. There is a nice terrace, very crowded in summer, where people relax and sip their drinks until very late into the night. Another popular feature is the free buffet between 8 pm - 9 pm, included in the price of a drink. There is also a small restaurant area where more substantial food is served. Main dishes include pizza, a variety of vegetable dishes, paella and sandwiches. The décor is bright and modern and there is a lovely view out of the window. Jazz, blues and salsa music is played nightly by a DJ and there is room to dance in the bar.

Rivoire
This café/bar has been around for a long time, having opened in 1872. It is located in one of Florence’s most beautiful squares, just oppostie the Palazzo Vecchio. All kinds of drinks are served, and the hot chocolate and cocktails are known to be some of the best around. The menu varies according to the season, and in the summer meals are served on the spacious and popular terrace. The food options include freshly-baked rolls, a variety of salads, snacks and delicious desserts. The homemade ice cream is particularly good and comes in many different flavours.
Rivoire is also a wonderful place to come to people-watch in the midst of some of the city’s most famous sights, such as Neptune’s fountain, the Piazza’s statues and the Palazzo’s clock tower.

Rugby Pub
This is a popular pub with a festive atmosphere, located just across from Florence’s stadium and within the grounds of the local rugby club. The pub serves dinner, and people also flock here for after-dinner drinks. Simple, traditional Italian dishes such as foccaccia bread, pizza, pasta dishes and a variety of salads are served. The desserts tend to be something special, and the crepes are particularly good. These are served with your choice of chocolate hazelnut sauce or strawberries and Grand Marnier. Most meals are between 12 - 15 euros. The beer choices are many and varied, and include many imported English beers and ales. As the name suggests, this pub is a good place to watch sporting events

Boccadama
This is a café that doubles as an upscale wine bar. They serve light fare for breakfast, lunch and a late dinner, with emphasis placed on their well-stocked wine cellar. They offer over 400 kinds of Italian wine, served by the glass with your choice of meats, cheeses or warm dishes. Coffee, tea, juices and other beverages are also served, and pastries are always available. Salads are popular as well. The décor here is new and chic, and even if you just stop by for a glass of wine, you are served at a table, not at a bar like the old traditional wine bars.

Pane e Vino
This is a wine bar that also prepares gourmet food. The wine menu changes every month, and the selection of food is always related to the wines that are currently featured. The chef generally focuses on Tuscan specialties and some common first courses served here include minestrone with porcini mushrooms and chickpeas, rosemary maltagliati pasta with garlic, beans and peppers, and fish ravioli. Main courses often feature fowl, usually duck or chicken, cooked to perfection. Many come here solely to sample the wines, however, and then you are offered a plate of meats and cheeses to accompany them. The food here is simply yet elegantly presented and the décor and atmosphere are unpretentious and welcoming.

Mon - Sat 7 pm - midnight

Via San Niccolò 60r

They have all the popular beers and ales of the British Isles, as well as some rare ones you should try such as Caffrey’s Irish Ale and “Tennent’s Supper.” The pub is small and cozy with redbrick walls, decorated with a variety of British memorabilia. The staff is very friendly and jovial, and the hour after opening is happy hour.
