Ashoka
Named after a wise and powerful king of ancient India, this restaurant serves good, authentic Indian food. The Indian cuisine featured here comes from the tandoori and mughlai traditions. The usual sweet and spicy appetizers are offered, served with deliciously crisp papadams and Indian bread. Another popular starter is the basmati rice with meat, cooked with more than 20 different spices. The tandoori specialties (cooked in a special clay oven) include spicy chicken, boneless lamb, and combination platters. There are a variety of Indian wines and teas that are served, as well as some local Italian wines. The prices are very reasonable, averaging a bit under € 20. The atmosphere is subdued and exotic, with traditional Indian sitar and tabla music playing in the background, and vibrant eastern décor. Credit cards are accepted.
