Sésame
This unusual restaurant is a mixture of Moroccan and French cuisine. It offers some very French elements, such as truffles and oysters imported from Brittany, but also many authentic Moroccan dishes, like spicy tagines. Other popular dishes created by the chef include fresh chopped tuna in a zucchini cream sauce and cous cous poissan with fresh fish. Much of the ingredients used here, as well as the wine, are brought in fresh from Morocco and France. This was one of the first fusion restaurants to establish itself in Florence, and is the only one in the city that combines Moroccan and French food. The layout of the restaurant is interesting and attractive, with a series of small rooms, subtlety lit, including a lounge area and an outdoor garden. The décor is very North African, with persian carpets and hookahs in the lounge. The staff is exceptionally good and friendly. The prices are very low, between € 7 - 16. Reservations are required.
