Il Barone di Porta Romana
This restaurant is run by a native of Florence, but has a very Spanish atmosphere and features some of the best of Iberian food. The restaurant has a casual and relaxed feel, and there is often flamenco dancing to live music. The food is excellent, particularly the paella (Valencian paella is the house specialty) and the various tapas choices. Other dishes include many choices of fried or baked meat or fish, as well as criadilla madrileña (bull’s testicles.) There are a variety of good wines, both Spanish and local. There is a delightful terrace that is always full in the summer, overlooking the Boboli Gardens. Prices are usually around € 20.
