Frankfurter Kunstverein
When it comes to contemporary art the nationally and internationally reputable Art Organisation of Frankfurt is one of the most important exhibition houses of Germany. The exhibition space, which ranges over 1000 m², is located in an old building in the city centre. Using changing topics and themes to approach people with art is the aim of the organisation. They use innovative models of fine arts to explain the connection between the pieces of art and the observer in a new way. The main focus of the exhibitions lies on the present, its problems, but also on its challenges and visions. In order to notice new streams and impulses of the present day, the organisation looks closer on the international art scene. Guided tours, lectures and movies are used to support an understanding for art. In 1929, the year of its foundation, the function of the art organisation existed in arranging a cooperation with the Städelsche Kunstinstitut. From this moment they developed their own exhibition activities and a platform for unknown artists. This platform traces new tendencies of the artists and is still today an important part of the organisation’s work.
