A mixture of numerous clubs and discos as well as lounges, bars and comfy Ebbelwei taverns characterise the charm of the city. Frankfurt’s nightlife is varied and includes old and new elements just as the city itself. Nearly every kind of person can find something for going out in Frankfurt. Many locations offer small or bigger events whereby the city never gets boring or uninteresting. Music ranges from techno, house to dance floor. Various pubs attract people with their wide choice of live music no matter if rock, blues or pop. But also after-work parties are a new but important part of Frankfurt’s clubbing scene. Between 1950 and 1960 Frankfurt was considered to be the Mecca of the jazz scene but today jazz cannot position itself properly anymore. Nevertheless the jazz scene is still alive and steps are already undertaken to make it even livelier.
