Public Transportation
Frankfurt has a very well extended public transport system including metro, S-Bahn, trams and busses, which are all in a very good condition. In order to discover the surrounding area around Frankfurt, regional trains of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsbund (RMV) are at your disposal. The whole city is divided into different fare zones. Most of the train stations have practical electrical information help desk for connection advice. Tickets can be adapted to every single person’s demands individually. There are single tickets, day tickets and group tickets, which can be purchased at the machines in most train stations, at the offices of the transport companies Frankfurt (Hauptwache, Konstablerwache, U-Bahnhof Bornheim Mitte, Bahnhof Höchst), at card machines and some private shops, for instance kiosks. But also bus drivers sell tickets but only for this kind of transport. Beside the normal tickets visitors can use the Frankfurt Card, which is valid for one or two days. It does not only function as a ticket for public transportation but also offers many discounts in museums, cruises and restaurants.
Additionally, there is a special offer for car drivers: the park & ride system, with which you park your car at a certain station and continue your journey with public transportation vehicles. Most of the time parking tickets are free of charge. It is a good chance to avoid traffic jams and the annoying search for a parking spot.

Nevertheless, since the 90s new connections are built and the trams appear again in the picture of Frankfurt’s traffic. Nowadays, about 9 trams were established to depart every 10 to 20 minutes.
