Bodequita la Guitarra
This restaurant is popular with tourists and is located in a quiet area of central Huelva that is easy to get to. It specializes in fresh seafood from the coast and offers some of the greatest variety in fish dishes. Some of the most popular entrees include gambas blancas, clams and bass, and the meat dishes are very good also. Prices are low, €15 and under.

Restaurante Portichuelo
This is a restaurant/bar and is located near the Plaza de las Monjas. It is pricey but excellent, offering a wide range of carefully prepared local delicacies, with emphasis on meat and seafood dishes. Particularly recommended are the clam plates, ox, baked pork and stuffed peppers. The service is also exemplary.

El Estero
This restaurant serves traditional local cuisine as well as other kinds of Mediterranean food. It has a lively and friendly atmosphere and is a favourite among the locals of Huelva. A variety of succulent seafood is served, as well as several meat and vegetable dishes. Some of the most popular entrees include lubina a la espalda, mollejas con setas (gizzard with mushrooms) and salmon in a roquefort sauce.

Las Meigas
Known as one of the best restaurants in the city, Las Meigas serves superb food at reasonable prices. The cuisine is Galician and Basque, providing a change from the typcial Andalucían dishes. Seafood is the focus, and the fish dishes range from simple and understated to elaborate and unusal. Some favourites include fried sea bass with garlic and parsley, shrimp scampi with ham and white wine, and squid. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, with the restaurant set up in rustic tavern style. Many tourists as well as locals frequent this establishment.

El Paraíso
This restaurant is located just outside of the city, on the road between Huelva and El Portil. The food is excellent, despite the restaurant’s somewhat shabby exterior. Inside, it is welcoming and rustic and has some of the best food in the area. The fish dishes are particularly good and very fresh. Lubina a la sal (sea bass cooked in a salt crust), crab with vegetables and a variety of rice dishes are the most popular with the locals. There is always a catch of the day, which can be prepared as you choose. Reservations are recommended.
