The main shopping streets in Huelva are located in the centre and are narrow pedestrian streets such as Concepcíon, Palacio, Pérez and Carasa. Plaza de España, at the end of the Alameda Sundheim street, is also a popular shopping area containing a shopping centre and two department stores. There is a wide variety of shops in Huelva, but not the range of shopping opportunities one would find in a larger city. However, there are many stores offering a unique local products, such as the flamenco shops on Calle La Palma and the traditional clothing stores on Calle José Nogales. There are also several markets, some open daily, others only once a week or during special times of year. A particularly nice one is the El Carmen market, offering delicious food as well as other items and specializing in fresh fish and ham.
