Transportation
By air
The İzmir Adnan Menderes International Airport provides regular local and international flights to various destinations. It is located 16 km. from the city centre. The easiest way to get there from Izmir is by Havas (HAH-vahsh) airport bus (every 20 minutes, 35 to 60 minutes) from the Turkish airlines office.
By car
The Central Bus Station, ''''otogar'''', is situated 12 km. from the city center. There many companies which provide inter-city services at regular intervals 24 hours to all cities around Turkey. The second bus terminal, Uç kuyular, is the departure place for destinations like Seferihisar, Gümüldür, Urla, Çeşmealtı, Karaburun and Çeşme.
Distances & Travel Times: Ankara (600 km - 6 hours); Ayvalik (140 km - 2 hours); Bergama (100 km, 1-3/4 hours); Bodrum (250 km - 4 hours);Cesme (85 km - 1.25 hours); Efesus/ Selcuk ( 80 km -1.1/4 hours); Istanbul (610 km - 8 hours); Kusadasi (95 km – 1.1/2 hours); Marmaris (320 km - 6 hours);Pamukkale (270 km – 4.1/2 hours)
Ferry lines connect Venice, Brindisi, Bari, Ancona and Greek Islands Chios with Izmir and Çeşme. Turkish Maritime Lines operates weekend overnight car and passenger ferry services from and to Istanbul.
