Leiden is abound with cafés and bars each uniquely reflecting the taste of its owner. Without a doubt, everyone can find a café or a bar that appeals to his or her taste just by strolling the streets. In Leiden, cafés usually close their doors at 1am during the week, and 2am on Friday and Saturday, after this time, no new customers are admitted. It is then up to the owner of the bar to decide when everyone inside should go home, usually between 2am and sunrise. The same goes for discos.
