Markets Food markets are good places to buy fresh vegetables, fish, flowers and exotic products. Leiden’s main market is held in the famous historic town centre at the Bortmarkt every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am to 17 pm. The market is surrounded with lovely shops, restaurant and many cafés. At summer time many cafés become canal café’s by putting tables on a floating surface, so you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.
