By train
Lisbon has five major railway stations. Santa Apolonia station is Lisbon’s main departure point for international destinations and for northern Portugal. Rossio station serves trains that run to and from Sintra, while trains from Cascais and Estoril reach Cais de Sodre railway station. If you want to reach Lisbon from the south of Portugal or from Costa Azul region, you can take a train to Barreiro station at the south side of river Tagus.
Portugal’s national railway provider is CP. They operate trains across Portugal and also a few international destinations as Paris and Spain.

By car
The A2 road arrives to Lisbon from Faro and also from Madrid. The A1 road arrives from Porto and the A8 road arrives from destinations to the north and west of the city. If you arrive from Cascais and the beaches area, you should take the A5 road that links to the A1 and A8 roads.

By bus
Travelling by bus isn’t as comfortable as taking the train, but getting to Lisbon by bus is a popular way of travelling with those on a tight budget. Most long-distance coaches stop at Arco do Cego terminal and it is easy to reach Lisbon from every major town in Portugal.
