One of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, there are now a number of late opening inner city stores, for picking up a bottle of chilled white wine or some bread and yoghurt for breakfast. You can get almost anything, from ready to serve Thai meals to fresh fish or their in house toiletries. Their wine departments are renowned fro their good quality and wide choice of New World as well as traditional bottles. There are so many branches, it is hard to know which one to recommend, so their website is the best place to find the nearest branch.
Neal's Yard Dairy
There are now two branches of this excellent cheesemongers, one based in Covent Garden and the other south of the Tahmes. Both serve impressive tasting cheeses. Try the distinctive Golden Cross goat''s milk log made by two highly experienced farmers in the South of England.
