This simple and rustic Italian restaurant is only open for dinner, and is popular with a late-night student crowd. Located right by the Gran Via, it is in a central and lively location. You will find a wide variety of tasty pizzas and pasta dishes here, as well as typical Italian meat and seafood. The atmosphere is cheerful and unpretentious. Prices are reasonable, averaging between € 15 - 20.

A famous pizzeria since the 1980s, this down-to-earth restaurant offers basic Italian fare in the form of pizzas, pastas and salads. The lasagna is particularly good, as are the pasta dishes with seafood. You will be surprised at how good the wines are here for the price, and there is a nice selection of both Italian and Spanish wines. The rustic atmopshere is enhanced by the 19th century taverna decor and the red checked tablecloths. The average cost here is around € 20. Reservations are recommended.

Il Piacere
This is a sophisticated restaurant serving high quality Italian food a cut above the rest. Most of their pasta dishes are made from fresh pasta, and it is always served al dente. There is a set three-course menu for both lunch and dinner that you can choose. Specialties include salmon carpaccio, veal escalopes, arugala salad with prawns,. And mushroom risotto. The desserts here are exquisite, featuring favourites such as tiramisu and fresh strawberries. The wines here are mostly imported from Italy, but there are some nice Spanish wines as well, such as the house Rioja. The interior is elegantly decorated and lots of candles add a romantic touch. Reservations are recommended.
