Nightlife

As expected from a city like Milan the nightlife is very lively and continuously changing. There are hundreds of bars, cafes, lounge bars, wine bars, bistros, music bars, clubs and pubs of different kinds and of all styles. Hi-tech furnished clubs exist next to wildlife locations that are designed with palm trees and artificial elephant heads, Japanese styled venues or Indian locations with Bollywood feeling. There is nothing that does not exist as the Milanese love variation and new experiences. Therefore it is easy to find something for the evening but maybe not easy to choose from the great variety of possibilities. It can easily happen that places change from being insignificant to a hot spot location.

Nightlife in Milan starts quite early. People are walking fancily dressed through the streets of the city, of course to see and to be seen. It is very common to hop from one bar to another to enjoy the evening with friends and some nice drinks. Therefore Milan’s clubs have a “happy hour” usually between 6 pm and 9.30 pm where you can have cocktails and some nibbles or even buffets with several courses of pasta, meat or fish. Usually the cocktail cost about 5 to 7 Euro. The area of Porta Ticinese, Navigli and Porta Romana hosts most of the clubs and nightlife venues but actually there are bars, pubs and clubs at nearly every corner in Milan.
A very nice thing for night owls is also the habit of brunch which was invented to satisfy the “day-after” appetite. Coming from a long night out on Saturday or Sunday, you can enjoy a great brunch between 10 am and 2 pm in most of Milan’s clubs. They serve sweets, cappuccino, croissants or solid food with eggs and bacon, meat and cheese.
