Public Transportation
Milan and its environment have a very well functioning public transportation network. The transportation company ATM included metro, trams and busses. Usually, public transportation is quick and on time. Tickets can be purchased in bars, kiosks, tabacchi and all metro stations. Tickets for trams, busses and metro are the same and it is possible to change the method of transportation with one ticket within a time span of 75 min. But stamped tickets in the metro can only be used for one journey and don’t entitle to a second trip on the metro. A single ticket costs 1 €, a card for 10 trips 9,20 €, a daily pass 3 € and a two days pass 5,50 €.
by metro
The metro system includes three lines: the red one which runs Northeast and West, the green line which covers Northeast and Southwest and the yellow line running North and South. There is also a blue line which has three stops in the centre of Milan before going to the suburbs of the city. Entrances to a metro station are signalised by a red square sign with a white “M”. The metro operates between 6.15 am and 0.14 pm.

Taxis
In general taxis are white and can be stopped in the streets what they usually don’t do very often. Better to go to a taxi stand or hire a taxi via phone: +39 02 4040 8585. An automated voice will tell about the closest taxi stand. Main companies for hiring a cap via phone are Radiotaxi: +39 02 6767 or 02 5353 and Autoradio: +29 02 8585.
