Munich possesses numerous nice, fancy, traditional or old cafes and pubs not only in the city centre but also in the many quarters outside. Since Munich is THE home of German beer it is no wonder that there are so many great beer gardens that make a break especially during the warm months of the year so enjoyable. While the term is used for gastronomic locations outdoors, the ones in Bavaria have a classical meaning namely to serve beer in a garden environment. Other characteristic features of a beer garden are the right of the guest to bring his own food, a rustic establishment with trees and wooden furniture, ideally grit floor and solid food. But beside all the traditional locations there are many fancy places with a stylish interior and posh ambience. Most of the establishments also serve food. Some cafes are well known for their great breakfast others for their solid menu.
