Alter Simpl
This tavern has been very popular especially amongst students for over a hundred years. Many artists made the Alter Simple to their second home but also other people enjoy the cosy ambience of this old location. Tasty food, good beer and excellent cocktails are keeping the guests and it is sometimes very difficult to get a place. The clientele is mixed in age and in appearance but since the atmosphere is so familiar and the tables are so long it is easy to get in touch with other guests quite easily.

Altes Hackerhaus
The tradition of this old tavern goes back to the 15th century which is obvious in interior and cuisine. Tradition shows in the massive wooden furniture, the hand made table cloths and the staff that is dressed in traditional costumes. Also the food is very traditionally Bavarian and the size of the portions above average what excuses the high prices.

Asam Schlössl
The Asa, Schlössl used to be the residence of the baroque builder Cosmas Damian Asam in 1724. In 1992/93 the house was restored and transformed into a gastronomic location which is under the direction of Birgit Netzle. The cuisine is not at all too experimental but traditional and solid. Monthly there are changing Bavarian classical dishes on the menu for example duck breast in prune sauce with home made Schupfnudeln (pasta) and pointed cabbage. And also the quiet and spacious beer garden with its 300 year old trees is a very popularplace that is known for the nice service, the great live music and the authentic Bavarian atmosphere.

Blauer Bock
Extraordinary cuisine in a stylish environment is what characterises the restaurant of Jörg Bachmeier. Noble place settings, seats covered with orange cord and an excellent cuisine create a exquisite ambince. The name is a bit misleading because the ambience is stylish and minimalist instead of rustic and solid. A modern international cuisine and a professional service make this restaurant to a special insider tip. The wine menu offers many German white wines and French red wines. Many celebrities come here for their dinner but the atmosphere is nevertheless, relaxed.

Dreigroschenkeller
The name of this restaurant of course goes back to Berthold Brecht’s theatre play “Die Dreigroschenoper” and the inside indeed remind of Brecht’s ideas. Photographs, drawings and mirrors decorate the walls, a gramophone, chests of drawers, chandeliers and many other little things create an atmosphere of a saloon around the fin de siècle. Every part of the restaurant is decorated in a different style which seems a bit kitschy but still creates a comfortable atmosphere. The menu is rich in Bavarian specialities and the service very obliging. Therefore it is nearly impossible to get a table without a reservation.
