Teatro Bellini
This theatre was opened in 1864 and is now one of the most prestigious theatres in Naples, located near the historic centre. The performances here are quite varied and all of top quality. Music concerts are also given here.

Teatro Cilea
This is a modern theatre in a large and comfortable building in the Vomero district. Plays are put on here as well as a number of musical performances. The theatre is particularly known for its evenings with traditional Neapolitan singers.

Teatro Sannazzaro
This is perhaps the best-loved theatre among the Neapolitans. Many popular shows are put on, sometimes in traditional Neapolitan dialects, and several of Naples’ most important actors have performed here regularly, such as Nino Taranto, Pietro de Vico and Luisa Conte. The theatre is a historical eighteenth century building with impressive rococo architecture.

Mercadante
This theatre was opened in 1779, under the name Teatro del Fondo, and was originally dedicated to opera. Now it presents a varied program of performances, some musical and some theatrical. Its organizers like to promote cultural awareness in Naples, and sometimes offer special performances of contemporary works.
