Naples’ international Capodichino airport is located 8 km north of the city. It is well-connected to the city centre via public transportation, mostly busses. To get to town from the airport there are two bus lines you can take, the CLP and the ANM. The CLP busses stop at Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Muncipio and the ANM busses run between the airport and the central station.
The official website of Naples airport is:

Naples is the transportation hub of southern Italy and has many train lines and fast trains to other cities in Europe. The central train station of Naples is at the Piazza Garibaldi, just east of the city centre. Here, one can obtain schedules and detailed information on the various train services. A variety of travel passes are also available that make train and bus transport less expensive.
Naples has a variety of train and subway services connecting the city and surrounding areas. The upper level of the central station is for state-run trains, while the private Circumvesuvia line is on the lower. The Circumvesuviana line goes to Sorrento, Herculaneum, Pompeii, Acerra, Nola-Baiano, and makes a ring around Mount Vesuvius.
The Cumana line is another important service, beginning in Montsanto in Naples and running along the coastline for 20 km through several urban centres before ending in Torregaveta. The Circumflegra line has a similar route, but also runs along the western side of Naples and extends further than the Cumana line.
Trains connecting Naples and Rome are frequent (about 30 trains a day,) and the travel time is 2.5 hours.

Naples has a lot of traffic problems, and travelling by car in the city is often a stressful experience most tourists would rather avoid. Heavy traffic jams are a daily occurrence and the Neapolitans tend to drive very fast and become rather impatient. Finding a place to park in the centre is also nearly impossible. A car can be quite useful for travelling outside of the city, however. The main motorways connecting Naples to the surrounding cities are the A1 and A4 (both part of the major north-south highway called the Autostrade del Sole.)
There are many car rental facilities in the city, two popular ones being found at the airport and at the central station in Piazza Garibaldi.

Busses are a good way to get around within the city, though they can often get very crowded. Traveling by bus is also one of the best ways to see some of the towns and countryside around Naples, particularly places where trains do not run, such as the scenic Amalfi coast. The main bus station is in front of the central Piazza Garibaldi station, and all busses in Naples stop here at some point on their route. The west side of the station has a stand providing information on all city bus lines. You should buy your tickets before you get on the bus, and they can be purchased from ticket machines, tobacco shops, newsstands and some coffee shops. Tickets cost 0.77 € each and are valid for an hour and a half. The two bus lines connecting the city and the airport are the CLP, a private bus service leaving every hour, and the ANM, which leaves every 25 minutes.

There is an extensive network of ferry and hydrofoil services connecting Naples with local ports and islands. Ferries depart from Molo Beverello, Mergellina, and Pozzuoli. Ferries to Capri, Sorrento, Ischia, Procida, Forio and Casamicciola always leave from the Molo Beverello (in front of the Castel Nuovo.) Ferries headed for more distant destinations, such as to Sardinia, Palermo, Cagliari and the Aeolian Islands depart from the Stazione Marittima.
