Nice can definitely called o city with a vibrant nightlife. It seems after the sun goes down Nice shows its second face. Along the Promenade de Anglais are numerous clubs and casinos which guarantee a lot of fun but also a very expensive night. In the Old Town there are many cafes, pubs and small discos which usually have a free entry. Especially in the Vieux Nice and Masséna areas there is at least one location for everybody’s taste. But nevertheless, alcohol isn’t cheap; therefore it is recommendable to check the happy hours which make going out much less expensive. Besides, Nice offers a great amount of nocturnal activities such as street performances at night. Many locations offer rock, jazz or dance music. The two most important events are the annual Nice Jazz Festival in July and the Carnival which takes place in February. Two magazines are guiding night owls through the night: l’Exés which is a free brochure found in most tourist offices and La Semaine de Spectacles which is good for weekly listings.
