Nice is perfect for a shopping trip. There are many shops of designer labels such as Luis Vuitton and Chanel but also casual shops like Zara and H&M. Everybody who is looking for an alternative should check the Vieux Nice with its numerous small shops selling clothes and souvenirs. Exclusive fashion is available in Rue Paradis and elegant clothing in Rue de I''hötel des Postes. Grocery stores as well as big supermarkets are all over the city. The Casino and Intermarché chains usually offer their own brands which are cheaper than normal brands. The Netto supermarket close to the Acropolis is by far the cheapest supermarket in the city. For shopping in general the department stores like Cap 3000, St. Laurentdu-Var and Nice-Etoile are recommendable. Friends of sweets have to visit the Confiserie Maison Auer, Rue St. Francois de Paule which has a great assortment of exclusive chocolates, pralines and candy.
Shops are open from Monday to Saturday 9 am – 12 am and 2 pm – 7 pm. Supermarkets have longer opening times until 9 or 10 pm. On Sunday morning small shops and bakery are open as well.
