L''Epi Dupin
This restaurant, owned by the charismatic François Pasteau, is extremely popular with both locals and tourists. During peak times it is often so crowded that people get turned away at the door. The food is superb and creative, with some recommended dishes including endive tatin with goat cheese, stuffed escalope of cod and citrus and chestnut lillet chaudfroid. The restaurant has a lovely interior and a charming and relaxed atmosphere. It is less busy in the evening than in the afternoon. Prices are reasonable, usually between €18-30.

L'Opportun
This bistro is reknowned for its outstanding food at fairly reasonable prices. The restaurant uses only the best ingredients, and serves a wide variety of French dishes. They have a number of excellent French cheeses on offer and the fondant chocolate is also quite heavenly.

Bofinger
This restaurant is supposedly the oldest brasserie in Paris, established in the 1860s. It specializes in Alsatian dishes and a variety of seafood. It is elegantly decorated with art nouveau glass, mirrors and brasswork. Prices are very reasonable.

L’Ambassade d’Auvergne
This restaurant features the cuisine of rural Auvergne in southern France. Typical regional ingredients are used, and the dishes are prepared in traditional ways. Some classic dishes are blood sausage with chestnuts, puy lentils, and mashed potatoes with Tomme cheese and fresh sausages. There is also a variety of fine wines and brandies on offer. The prices are fairly high, between €25-55 for most meals.

Le Mistral
Named after the wind that blows through the southern region of Provence, this restaurant’s main claim to fame is its freshly-made, simple and delicious dishes. They serve a number of grilled meat dishes, influenced by the cuisine of south western France. They also do perfect croque monsieurs and omelettes. There is a small but lovely garden terrace covered in vines where customers sit in the summer. Prices are very reasonable, starting around € 7.

This is a delightful restaurant located in a former imperial pavillion. It is a particularly lovely place to eat in the summer and offers nice views of the Buttes-Chaumont park. They specialize in seafood dishes and a variety of simple French food. Prices are high.
