Public Transport
The public transport includes busses, trams and trolley busses which are provided by the Transport Information Authority and are generally cheap. Each type of transport requires a separate ticket which can be purchased from the on-boards conductor. For routes check the city map which is available at most kiosks. You can also buy a one-month pass for busses or trolley busses. They are available at the post offices or city kiosks. The RIGA CARD (Sightseeing) gives visitors free use of the public transport. Apart from the common transport there are also mikroautobusses (small busses on set routes) or taksobusses (small busses on varied routes).

Taxis
You can grab a taxi either on the street or book it in advance via phone (Riga Taxi: 800 1313 and Bona 800 5050). Only official metered taxis should be used. If none is available you have to agree on a price in advance when taking a non-metered taxi. Usually a tip of 10% is expected and appreciated.
