De Doelen Concert Hall
The main classical music venue in the city, De Doelen is home to the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and presents hundreds of concerts a year by many different Dutch and international groups. The concerts range from traditional orchestra and chamber music performances to the contemporary and experimental.
Rotterdamse Schouwburg
Located right in the centre of Rotterdam, this venue is primarily dedicated to theatre, dance and opera, and occasionally other musical events. It is known for being a hotspot of hip, contemporary productions, and is often used for new multimedia performances. More than 500 shows a year take place here, and there is always a varied and exciting program which you can find on the Schouwburg website.
Dizzy
The best and oldest venue in Rotterdam for jazz, Dizzy is a popular live-music café. There are performances every evening, from a variety of Dutch and international groups, and there is a nice mix of different jazz styles on different days. There is no cover charge, and the food served in the café is quite good.

Sint Laurenskerk
This beautiful church is known for its three historic organs and presents many classical music concerts throughout the year. The church stands out from its modern surroundings, and miraculously survived the bombings during World War II. It was damaged during the war, but rebuilt in 1940, and retains much of its original grandeur. During the day visitors can also climb the church tower for a lovely view of the city.

Ahoy
This is the main venue for popular music in Rotterdam, and accomodates a very large audience. Many big names perform here, such as Kylie Minogue, Green Day, Jamiroquai, and many others. Ahoy is also used for some classical and jazz concerts, also by top international musicians. Cirque du Soleil has performed here too.

Nighttown
One of the best live music venues in the city, Nighttown has three different floors and lots of events going on. There are very popular big-band nights, and many other kinds of performances, including hip-hip, pop, techno, funk and rock. After most shows there is an after party in the adjoining café.
