Rotterdam has excellent shopping opportunities, with many different kinds of shops, markets, department stores, and more. You will find many unique, small local shops as well as international chains. Rotterdam is known for its trendsetting interior design, and has many stores where you can find distinctive furniture and other items for the home. The best shops are located in downtown Rotterdam, and Lijnbaan, Hoogstraat, Coolsingel, and Weena are nice streets full of shops, and there are big shopping centres on the Beursplein, the Koopgoot or Beurstraverse, and the Lijnbaan. For high fashion, the best streets are Karel Doormanstraat and Kruiskade. Binnenweg also has great clothing stores with a greater variety, including secondhand shops and stylish yet affordable clothes from up-and-coming designers. For an interesting and random assortment of shops, selling everything from rare books to antique gadgets, head to Nieuwe Binnenweg and Mauritskade.
