Controvento
This is Tallinn’s most famous Italian restaurant, located in a cute little niche of the Old Town. The food is excellent, and demonstrates new vigour brought to the traditional pasta and pizza dishes found in every Italian eatery. There is a long wine list featuring high-quality and down-to-earth wines to complement any meal. The restaurant is located in a beautiful medieval building, and the décor is an interesting mix of medieval Estonian and Italian. Tables here fill up quickly, so it’s always best to make a reservation.

Bocca
A chic and trendy upscale Italian restaurant, Bocca is popular with those who want to be seen. It is known as a place to run into beautiful rich people and minor celebrities, but beyond this is also a great place to enjoy a fancy meal in an elegant, if pretentious, environment. The menu offers a creative take on traditional Italian fare, with delicious dishes made by master chef Nicolo Tanda. There is also a lounge attached to the restaurant where you can enjoy cocktails or after-dinner liqueurs.

Buongiorno
Buongiorno is a down-to-earth restaurant with hearty, very authentic Italian food. It is small and feels more like a café than a restaurant, and has a very friendly atmosphere. It is a refreshing alternative to the other Italian restaurants in the Old Town if you are looking for simple, tasty, garlicy, and affordable Italian cuisine in a casual environment.

Opening times: Daily 10 am - 11 pm

Fellini
This restaurant offers a beautiful view over the Town Hall Square if you manage to get a window seat. It offers excellent, traditional Italian food and great wines, and usually has some supurb seafood specials. The atmosphere is quiet and romantic, with live piano music several nights a week. The restaurant is somewhat formal, but very comfortable.
