Admiral
An upscale Russian restaurant located on a historic steamboat, Admiral is a unique and memorable place to eat. The boat was built in Russia in the 1950s, and now resides in Tallinn’s harbour, offering diners a nice view of the city’s port and coastline. The food is delicious, featuring traditional Russian and other Balkan dishes.
Troika
Located right on the main square, Troika is an elaborately decorated restaurant featuring traditional Russian dishes from ages past. You enter through a tunnelled walkway, lined with crests and other memorabila, and the dining room is coloufully decorated in 19th century style. The wait staff is also dressed in costume, and there is often live music featuring traditional Russian instruments like the bayan and balalaika. Specialties on the menu include stroganoff, pelmeni, blini, lampreys on ice, and oven-smoked piglet stuffed with buckwheat.
Nevskij
This restaurant is located within the fancy St. Petersbourg hotel, and is named after the Russian prince and hero Alexander Nevsky. The menu features a decadent array of Russian delicacies fit for kings, such as sturgeon and wild boar, salted salmon, pickled lampreys, and caviar. They also have a nice selection of fine Russian vodkas. The décor is opulent, with decorative samovars, oil paintings, and wall-hangings.
