Koninklijke Schouwburg
This opulent “royal theatre” was originally built as a palace for Prince Karel Christiaan van Nassau Weilburg, but has was made into a theatre in 1804. The building is a beautiful and ornate 18th century structure, and the theatre is fairly intimate with none of the seats being too far away from the stage. The performances here include a wide range of operas, plays and dance performances. There is also a café in the building, which is a popular place to stop for a pre-show drink or snack.
