Stadsherberg ’t Goude Hooft
A large restaurant with a friendly atmosphere, Stadsherberg ’t Goude Hooft is located right on the city’s old market square. The interior is rustic and charming, decorated in medieval style with stained-glass windows, wall baners and murals, brass chandeliers, and sturdy wooden furniture. The menu features a variety of Dutch food, from simple sandwiches and salads, to more elaborate dinners such as guinea fowl with thyme and red perch in saffron sauce. It is also possible to stop by just for a coffee or a cocktail, as many do in the evenings. Prices range from € 14 - 24 for a main course, and there are also fixed price menus that give you more for about the same price. All major credit cards are accepted.

De Wildhoef Restaurant
This restaurant was established in 1959 and has long been known as party/special event centre as well as a restaurant. In addition to the regular dining rooms, it includes several spaces which can be reserved for parties or other special occasions. De Wildhoef has a warm atmosphere and good quality, hearty food that is generally traditional Dutch with some French influences. In the summer, a lovely terrace is set up and is a beautiful place to dine.

Paraplu
A cozy café/restaurant in the city centre, Paraplu is casual and welcoming and serves both lunch and dinner. They feature a three-course menu special that changes every month, as well as a wide selection of à la carte dishes. The cuisine is primarily Dutch, with some French twists added to make the food a notch more gourmet. This is a good place to come with a larger group, though making a reservation is recommended.

Bojangles
This dinner restaurant is a combination of old Dutch cuisine and French bistro food. The menu features a few Dutch specialties as well as a variety of simpler bistro dishes and snacks. One of the most popular dishes is their famous spare ribs, delicious enough to not need any sauce. There are some fixed-price menus starting at € 15, and the à la carte dishes are very reasonably priced. In the warmer months it is possible to eat in their beautiful courtyard.

Premier Lunch & Borrel
An intimate waterside restaurant, Premier Lunch & Borrel offers a diverse array of breakfast and lunch options. There are many simple basics as well as some more interesting dishes, and specialties include Sunday brunch and daily high tea. It is possible to order a three course menu for lunch, or to go for a simple sandwich. They also have good coffee and some nice wines on offer.
