Garoeda
This is one of the very best places in The Hague to try the famous rijsttafel, a distinctly Dutch version of Indonesian cuisine, where you get to sample a wide range of dishes in one meal. There is also a wide selection of other traditional Indonesian dishes, most of which come with rice. The restaurant is very popular and fills up quickly, so it is best to make a reservation. Main courses range from € 6- 15, and rijsttafel menus start at € 50 for two people. All major credit cards are accepted.

Specialties include Sumatran fish otak-otak, which is marinated fish wrapped in a banana leaf, spicy chicken and saffron rice. You can also choose your own combination of dishes, and get three different ones for € 8. The staff here is extremely friendly, giving the place a homey and welcoming atmophere. You can eat in if you choose, if there is room at one of the three tables. No credit cards are accepted.
