La Lanterna
This restaurant has been around since 1975, and is one of the best pizzarias in The Hague. In addition to a wide selection of authentic pizzas, they offer many kinds of pasta, baked pasta dishes like lasagna, and many meat and fish specialties. For appetizers and side dishes, there are some gourmet soups, carpaccio, and a variety of fresh salads. The restaurant has a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere and is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Casa di Toni
This restaurant really brings an Italian atmopshere to life, and features a menu of delicious, well-prepared food. The choice at any one time is fairly limited, with only a few main courses to choose from, but they change daily and there is always a nice variety. There are the usual pastas, some excellent seafood dishes, and crisp, tasty salads. It is a popular restaurant, so its possible that you will have to wait a while to be seated. No credit cards are accepted.
Opening times: Tues - Sun 7 pm - 10.30 pm

La Liguria
A somewhat quirky Italian restaurant in the centre of the city, La Liguria offers consistently good food and is popular with businessmen, couples, and tourists. Even Dutch crown prince Willem Alexander eats here regularly, as the restaurant is located opposite his house. The menu offers standard Italian fare, made from fresh, high-quality ingredients, but is not particularly of note. The restaurant has a quiet, romantic atmosphere, but is very simply decorated and down-to-earth. The waiters are not always the most patient or polite, but they are usually interesting.
Opening times: Daily 12 pm - 3 pm and 6 pm - 11 pm

La Toscana
This restaurant offers good, classic Italian food that usually tastes better than you might expect from reading the menu. The staff is friendly and agreeable, and even though many of the dishes have meat or seafood, they will make almost anything vegetarian as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and convival, and the decor makes you feel momentarily as if you are in a warmer climate. There are a couple of fixed menu options, beginning at € 15, and the average price for an à la carte meal with multiple courses is € 30.
Opening times: Mon - Sat 12 pm - 2 pm and 5 pm - 10 pm
