The Hague has a variety of nice shopping areas, with many different kinds of shops packed in close. There is a large network of pedestrian-only shopping streets in the centre, including Spuistraat, Vlamingstraat, Venestraat, and Hoogstraat. One of the most famous places to shop in The Hague is the Passage, the city’s oldest shopping centre which is a covered arcade dating from 1884. It runs from Spuistraat to Gravenstraat and features a variety of restaurants and stores, selling books, clothes, beauty products, computers and more. Other streets that are full of upscale shops include Noordeinde, Frederik Hendriklaan, and Oude Molenstraat, where you wll find fashion boutiques, old and rare books, and gourmet delicatessens.
The Hague is also known for its markets, and there are a wide variety of these to choose from. There is the weekly antiques and curios market, for example, as well as the organic farm market and the more down-to-earth and classicly raucous Haagsche Markt.
