A small neighbourhood cinema located on a scenic canal near the centre of town, Movies shows two or three films at a time, usually major international releases. Occasionally one art film or more offbeat film is also shown. The cinema is located right across the street from the university library.

Catharijne
This cinema is part of the large shopping centre (Hoog Catharijne) which is attached to the central station. It includes four spacious viewing halls usually showing Hollywood films or other major international releases. At least one children’s film is usually also featured at any given time.

Rembrandt
Located in the heart of the old centre of Utrecht, the Rembrandt theatre is part of the Pathé chain of cinemas spread throughout the Netherlands, and offers the classic modern cinema experience. There are several viewing rooms showing a variety of major films and plenty of unhealthy snacks to buy in the lobby.

Louis Hartlooper Complex
This cinema is part of a film and culture centre and is located a bit south of the old city centre. They feature a nice variety of films, including classic old films and artsy and independent films from all over the world, as well as the major international releases. The complex is particularly active during film festivals.
