Valencia has many cafés and bars of all types, most of which are located in the city centre, but nearly every neighbourhood has its own cozy hangouts. The most popular bars are generally found in the Old Quarter, where the nightlife scene is centered. During the day, there is also a vast array of cafés to choose from in this area, some of which stay open late. The bars of the city cover all the typical categories, including gay bars, student hangouts, sport bars, chic fashion bars, and your regular, down-to-earth pubs. Taking a walk through the centre of Valencia, you will come across nice cafés and bars on almost every street, and many are clustered around the touristy plazas. Most bars stay open very late, as many people only go out drinking around 12 or 1 am.
